BLOOM
a bouquet of musings from a 20-something

Authentic > Impressive.
Reflecting on the beautiful, brutal,
happy-dancing, hide-your-face-embarrassing
growing pains of adulting.
HELLO THERE!
I first started this blog when I was a freshman in college. I named it after a saying that really resonated with me:
"Bloom where you're planted."
It brought comfort to my trying-to-figure-it-out-college-kid soul; and today, it brings comfort to my trying-to-figure-it-out-adultish soul.
If you read Bloom during my college days, you may notice I've moved it from Wordpress to Wix (yes, I planted it somewhere new :)

I wanted a new, more accessible format that would be a little more user-friendly (thanks, Wix)!

Here's what you can expect:

Now that I work in journalism, I wanted to showcase writing I'd be comfortable sharing with viewers, and writing that reflects this new chapter of my life.
While Bloom may be planted on a new site (sorry, I couldn't resist), the heart of its content is the same:

Bloom is all about planting seeds of authenticity.
It's about finding the patience to embrace growing pains, scanning the sky for hope when we're uprooted, seeking courage during times of uncertainty, and celebrating the moments we flourish.
Bloom is a place where I like to share the humor, the upsets, the happy dances, the heartbreak, the sweetness, the confusion, the butterflies, the turn-your-face-fuschia embarrassing moments, and the shoulder-shrugs that come along with "adulting."

If you're looking for a blog that will serve you images of expensive outfits, foolproof career tips, and picture perfect date nights - you won't find that here.

But here's what you will find: honest, conversational - occasionally flowery, and occassionally embarrassing - writing that feels like sitting down with a friend over a cup of tea (my favorite), some coffee, a mimosa, or whatever you feel like drinking with a friend!

So put on your coziest pair of sweatpants and settle in!
After all, I'll take authentic over impressive any day.
